   I have put some in. I have used Heat Controller & Sanyo. Sanyo costs more but is a little nicer. A standard split system sometimes costs less. The ductless or "Mini-Split" units are quite expensive but are good where nothing else will work. they are very quiet also.

   *We recently had a split ductless system installed in our house. It is a Janitrol unit. We are very satisfied with it's performance and operating features. We'd do it again in a heartbeat !!

   *For those of you considering ductless heat/ac units, my advice is to use them only when no other alternatives are available.We had them in a sister nursing home facility in Cameron, TX, where I worked a couple of years ago. Our experience was basically one long enduring nightmare. They were very high maintenance items, ie: needed cleaning every 6 months, the openings in the walls were a constant source of seal failure problems, mechanical failures in the units were common and annoying, etc., etc.. They were noisier than central units too. In general, we hated them, and that is puting it mildly. Their maintenance and operating costs soon exceeded that of our central units. If I recall correctly, there were approximately 48 of the units, so our nightmare experience was not just a onesy-twosy random sample.Stay with central units whenever you can,Cliff.

   I saw an article and thought,"Cool."
   I've just seen one at work this summer in a SOHO pizza joint.
   Any feed back from clients?
