I recall seeing an advertisement regarding an electric heat mat that you can install thinset mortar & tile over. If anybody has any information please let me know.

I saw the ad in Fine Homebuilding. Sounds like a good idea for a tile bathroom floor but energy costs in most parts of the country would keep me from using it any where else. (small kitchen maybe?)

Try http://www.NUHEAT.com
They have mats in a wide range of sizes, and will
make custom sizes or shapes.
Has 25 year warranty (the longest of any I've seen).
1-800-778-9276 is the factory number in B.C., Canada
Just ordered one for a bathroom job I'm doing.
Check the website for operating costs. It's not as bad as you'd think because the operating temperature is not that high.
