Looks like it’s time to pack the bags and move again. Wife has started a job in New York, and wherever SWMBO goes I tag along. We are in the process of closing on a house in West Port, and, if we can rent out our home here in Raleigh quickly, be relocating early June. Probably be ready to work early/mid July, once I get the dogs fenced in and home set up.
Been running my own little carpentry/construction business here in Raleigh for the last 3 years. Have my North Carolina General Contractors License, for whatever that may be worth, or not. You can view samples of my work at my website @ gdcrpenterinc.com.
I have no problem not being the ‘Chief’. All I need is an honest days pay for an honest days work. That and a little R-E-S-P-E-C-T, which I would expect to earn and return. I’ve heard, from some helpful folks, about the CMU (Conneticut Monetary Unit) but don’t know if the wages are commesurate.
If it helps, I’m Canadian – but have a ligit Green Card – so no legal/illegal issues there. If being Canadian doesn’t help ignore that part and I’ll put on a Souther accent.
Let’s not confuse the issue with facts!

That is always a plus :~)

Can you expound on this 'Connecticut Monetary Unit'?
Rumor has it the CT dollar is dear, meaning it's expensive to live there. We just bought a house so we believe! Wonder what it would have cost to flatbed our current house there. But then again a 'building lot' there is considered anything up to $500,000.ooLet's not confuse the issue with facts!

I dont know how the canadian thing would help, I can tell you the southern accent wont get you far.
its true about the monetary thing. what ever you're making in raleigh is about a third of what you should make around Westport.
welcome to Connecticut
