Has anyone attempted to build a home with the intent of getting it Energy Star rated?  I am kicking around the idea on a home that I am building for a customer right now.  It is a small house, 1100 sf +/- .  It is a small enough project that I want to make it a test case for future builds. 

I have been in contact with a local Energy Star qualified rater and have plans to meet with them on the site this week.  Preliminary costs for the whole process come out to $750 for all of the consultations and testing procedures.
