we are remodeling our home kitchen and looking for information on how to exhaust smoke/odors from a separate electric oven/broiler. There are many articles and discussions about exhuast hoods for cooktops, but nothing about exhausting oven smells. “This Old House Kitchens” book discussed hoods, but all the pictures and plans with stan alone oven had no methods for exhausting odors.
any suggestions?

I recently installed a popup vent, 2" x34" in an island but is was for a cooktop. It vented down but I am not sure if it would be practical for Your application. I'll search my paperwork for more info on the manufacturer and any oven applications.
*gary;I believe that the oven itself needs to be designed for external vent.... I do know that the Thermador 27 and 30" double convection ovens have this option. You need a piece of 3" vent pipe, single wall. Most ovens vent into the room, so I guess you could rig up a hood to be close to the exhaust. My vote is for an oven designed to be externally vented.Good Luck
