Hello, we are needing to replace our front door. Right now we have one that is wood on the inside, and stained to match our trim, which we love. The door has a steel panel on the outside which is painted. We would really like to have another wood door on the inside to stain again with the trim, but don’t want the maintenance of a wood exterior door on the outside. I’ve had a hard time finding doors like this on the websites for multiple different manufacturers. I feel silly, but is there a special term to call these or something I am not searching correctly?
Thanks!

Never saw a wood metal combo but
You might take a look at fiberglass. Stain in or out, paint in or out.
Are you referring to aluminum clad? This is a wood door with thick aluminum wrap on the exterior side. If so, just about every major window manufacturer will have multiple options.
Look into ThermaTru Fiber Classic doors. They're doors with fiberglass skins, that can be stained on the inside, and painted on the outside. I'd suggest either getting it pre stained from the factory, or using ThermaTru's stain kits. Supposedly, you can use any gel stain on the doors, but I've heard of problems when not using ThermaTru's stains.
Another vote for fiberglass here.
