I was at either the FHB or JLC show last year and I saw Mike Guertin demo an interesting sill pan detail that involved using a shim at the back and some channel cuts… and I think that was under the membrane material.
Does this ring enough of a bell with anyone that you could steer me to where to find that detail. It was basically an insurance policy that any water that got under the sill would have a tendency to head back out.

Are you talking about using a "jamsill gaurd" pan flashing.
i'm not sure, actually. i know that mike was showing a variation on a standard rough in for an exterior door, and i recall thinking it made a lot of sense. think it had something to do with placing a strip of ply under the bituthane at the back of the jamb. there were some other details after that that i can't recall. too much lead dust has made me stoopid!!_____________________________HomeBase______________ LLC
