1/2″ thick t&g hardwood. Staple to 5/8″ ply underlayment. Don’t want to penetrate through the ply. Would you feel OK using Senco or Bostitch 1″ flooring staples?

Staple to 5/8" ply underlayment.
Is the 5/8" underlayment over subfloor???or THE subfloor????
If over...what is the thickness of the subfloor?
BTW The shortest fastener for the MF111 is 1.5".

The 5/8" ply is over a concrete slab. I checked out fasteners and flooring tools at both Senco's and Bostitch's sites, and both make tools that use staples specific for flooring, and the length is 1". In fact, no longer length staples are available for these specific tools.
And here is a graphic.
Yes, you are correct. I was thinking of my Bostitch M111FS which is a pnuematic smack nailer.

Hey Rich:
1/2" solid material? I don't think I'd feel safe with the 1" staples. The last 1/2" over ply I worked with it was glued(quartersawn) Can't think of any other 1/2" solid I've worked with that we didn't glue. I suppose we're stuck in our ways and prefer to glue. Geesh, how'd you know I may be looking in? I haven't been here in months...just looking around for print ad rates that I cannot find.
