Hello All,
I just ran new supply lines from the sink cabinet base up tp my faucet so I could add a supply for a dishwasher. The dishwasher is not hooked up yet (no time for electrical work) I put ball valves on each supply. Most of the joints are soldered but I used sharkbite fittings to attach the new work to the old. I also replaced the sprayer nozzel (just had to screw it on to the old nipple).
Now, when I turn off the faucet it continues to run for a second as if it is draining whatever water is left in the line. It did not do this before I put the new work in. Hopefully someone out there can solve this. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

sprayer have a one way valve on the line?, where does it connect to? sounds like it is draining through the faucet ..
Some sprayer nozzles (and shower heads) have a little check valve (often just a rubber flap) to prevent the dribble when the water is turned off.

How much water? If it's just the water draining out of the spout, then any minor change, even cleaning off some of the hard water deposits on the spout, could have provoked this behavior.
Is the behavior a problem?
Not a problem just a nuisance, and a waste of water. Would it be worth taking the faucet apart and replacing all the washers?
Probably if you sat and watched the faucet for half an hour (before this change in behavior), the water would have come running out after several minutes.

A waste of water? Probably less than having the faucet on for a second or two when brushing your teeth. I think this isn't a real problem. BTW, all of my faucets drain a little bit after being shut off, particularly the shower, since I trap some water in its system when I close the valve.
Have you used the sprayer yet? Air in the nozzle end of the sprayer hose could be expanding and pushing water back out of the faucet spout.
Good thought, I'll try running the sprayer and check to make sure all the connections are tight.
come back with a report. I've seen this a time or two and curious about the answer.
