I'm not so sure there's a real "big" difference. The mounting head now has a multi sided shaft which better grips the tool put on it. The oscillations per minute are the same. If you have a supplier, ask them. I might stop at mine this a.m., I'll ask.
There's a nice combo pack with the drill offered along with several diff tools in the metal box. That I think is worth checking out.
