try ebay yet?

Keep your eyes on ebay. Every once in a while one will come along at a good price. Thats how I got mine, brand new, but I had been looking for a while and got lucky. Be careful of the ebay prices though, as a lot of times they arent any better than what toolcrib (aka amazon.com) has.

Good point. Considering that I've purchased at least 50% of my tools from ebay you'd think that would occur to me. Timing might be an issue, so I may have to look at the crib or another vendor that can get it to me by next weekend.
What did you end up paying? (And what would you consider a good deal these days?)_____________________________HomeBase__________________________ LLC
Fein makes a lot of things. What are you after?
Sorry Notch... Multimaster.

Great tool! If you want new, try Tool Crib/Amazon. I bought mine locally and held them to their promise of meeting competitor's prices.
I just wish their attachments were a little more reasonable.
I payed $100.00 + a$10.00 shipping back in Sept. I got it on a "buy it now". Im sure it would have gone for more if the guy would just have let bidding go on it. I assumed that it was used, but this one had never been used ( cord still wrapped up and everything).
When I was looking on ebay, a lot of the auctions would end with prices close to what toolcrib had brand new ones for.

http://www.coastaltool.com $139. for single speed 179. for pneumatic 195. variable speed just replaced one, decent prices on blades too
Is it worth getting the variable speed, guys? Do you ever modulate the speed, or just end up using it full blast in the end?_____________________________HomeBase__________________________ LLC
The variable speed I have played with at times with cutting, a bit while using the scraper and maybe most when sanding. I guess you wouldn't "have" to have it, but why not? What's the upcharge?Remodeling Contractor just outside the Glass City.
Quittin' Time
i've got the single speed, use for undercutting jambs, plunge cuts into wood flooring, so not sure if variable makes difference
Not really for ed2 but ALL.
Has anyone ever put one of these blades on one of the Ryobi detail sanders? It sure looks like it would work, especially if only for occasional use. It has a square shaft and I can not believe some of us Rube Goldbergs here could not pull it off.
