A while back I ran across an old issue of FH magazine that contained an article about building custom exterior porch columns – a square column was covered in the article.  I’ve looked through all my old magazines and searched all over this website for a copy of the article… does anyone know what I’m talking about and where I could find it?

The portion of the ariticle I’m looking for shows blown-up details on how the bottom of the column was trimmed out – trim with end grain connections and v-shapped routed grooves about 3/4″ off each corner to conceal the joint between the boards.

Also, please feel free to offer any other resources with similar info.
