Hi,
Went to a “Green” expo last weekend a talked to a guy showing off Sip panels with a fiber glass skin, instead of OSB. Looked interesting with it having no wood product, living here in FL. Anybody have any experiance with these?

A couple of years ago I did an extensive Google search on SIPs with various skins. There are some manufacturers who will provide a variety, such as metal or cement board on one or both surfaces with something else on the other face. I did not get any prices and I assume that these were specialty manufacturers who's product was unlikely to be cheap. I also didn't find anything about treatment of the insulating layer to keep it from becoming a bug motel. I guess you would just have to have Frenchy come down to your place and convince all the carpenter ants and termites that they would really rather burrow in old musty damp wood rather than nice soft polystyrene...
I got a buddy who just bought 2 40' x16 x 12' tall walk in coolers from The closed K Mart for 200$ each.I was thinking that they would be great for sip application by assembling and putting a gable roof over entire box.
He has a deer processing operation in Whytheville and he figures when he gets it all reassembled it will hold 1200 deer.
The refrigeration units cost around 30,000 a piece new and these were less than 8 years old with them being shut down for the last 3 years.
The doors alone are built like fort knox safe.
No one else even bid on them.
If I ever have to start all over again I am going looking for the same setup and build me a small house out of walkin coolers.

at autions it's pretty rare anyone ever bids on the big walk in coolers... an 8x8 will sell but a 30 x 120 won't... in my youth when i was building bars I'd buy em... remember the judys (like wendys) they had split units about 10 x 20 with about 6ft be'n freezer... i got all of them from the memphis stores... think i gave $100 ea... and they had the self contained mechanicals compressor on top with the coil ect mounted under which the whole thing was mounted to one roof panel.... think i got like 6 of em... i sold & installed them all in less than 6mo... mostly to flower shops...
last big one i saw sold you could drive an 18wheeler into it.... and thats what the guy that bought it used it for... he made it into a big truck/bus spray booth...built it over a pit and made it downdraft told me he sold the mechanicals and came out ahead...
many are made to be outside... so really no roof required... some big grocery store ones i have seen where the roof panels were "hung" from the structure of the building to keeps post out of the inside of the cooler... so those might be an issue...
if you have the time, place & need.... theres lots of good reuses for tons of stuff... :) & i spend way too much time think'n about it...

Don't you know they paid a fortune for those coolers originally.
I wonder what the R value is on those panels they look about three inches thick.
