Has anyone had experience with or installed fiberglass exterior, wood interior windows manufactured by Integrity a product line of Marvin Windows? I am contemplating using them in a log house in northern Montana. Any comments would be appreciated.

If you don't mind vinyl then you may like the Integrity. I've installed a couple dozen of the integrity windows and haven't been real impressed with the product and how they look and feel after being trimmed out. They are probably a step above a typical vinyl, but they aren't in the same class as a top of the line window. The windows do have fiberglass reinforcement in the plastic, but they are not the same as a true fiberglass frame. The way Integrity builds the interior wood jamb isn't all that spectacular--about like tacking a simple jamb on a vinyl. To me it's still in the class with plastic windows.

thanks for the reply. what would be your first choice of manfacturer? i read a big discussion on integrety and lots of comments kind of dissing most windows, including anderson, pella, etc.

"...what would be your first choice of manfacturer?"
The regular aluminum clad Marvins, Anderson, or others in that range are my choice of windows for paint or stain grade instillations.
Best of luck,
Don
I've installed one houseful of Integrity and I'll agree with Idaho Don that they are one step above vinyl. I found that the frames wont take much of an impact which may be important if you have kids with baseballs or the like.
Appropriate question, being the Integrity repairman was just here. I recently installed about 40 of them. I agree somewhat with the other replies but I might still recommend them depending on your requirements. I spent alot of time researching and comparing Andersen, Weathershield, Pella, Bonneville, Kolbe, etc. Not saying the Integrity's are necessarily better but they seemed to be the best bang for the buck for my needs.
The pros:
The IGU is a Marvin and has a good rating, with few seal leakage issues according to the window forums/reviews. There isn't too much plastic on the inside, so if you want natural wood, as I did, they are better than most. I have DH, awnings and sliders and they all operate smoothly. The fiberglass exterior can be painted unlike vinyl or aluminum another criteria for my choice. Marvin came out and serviced one sticking window and some faulty screen hardware promptly.
The cons:
The screen fastening attachment is a plastic plunger which is very flimsy and can(will) come off the screen. The locking cam is pretty basic, I would prefer it be a little beefier. The screen doors are also flimsy, but they are top mounted, so at least they don't get stuck in a bottom track. And the one thing that pizzed me off is that the wood color match was pretty bad on a set of french doors with sidelites.
