Film finishes for concrete floors
I’m in the process of constructing a wild land fire airbase, to house approximately 60-firefighters, with a possible 200 at the facility during a major fire.
It is a slab on grade structure, and we are having problems with flooring. The short version is that two of the flooring choices specified by the architect are not made in the US, and can’t be used. Add to that the vinyl composition tile specified marks really easily when walked on with vibram lug soles, which all the fire folks wear.
So, I want to replace the “hard” flooring, with a film coat over the concrete.
Choices are: epoxy; polyurea; urethane, or anything else that folks think might work. The coating needs to be opaque, and have a reasonable range of colors, (the colors is to keep the architect happy, the fire folks would have been happy with polished concrete), and be durable, highly durable.
So, any suggestions, recommendations, experience, or lessons learned?

Jigs,
My first choice would be Terrazo. (sp)
Just finished a job with Shield-Crete. Seems like a good product except for coverage rates, only about 2/3 of what the lit says.
Comes in colors and flakes to add color and texture-grip.

Sounds like what you want is a garage floor coating.

stain it for colour then seal it

You're kidding, right? To keep the architect happy?? He's supposed to cater to you, his client, not vice versa. Tell him to pound sand!
Someone eluded to this ... do acid etched floors. The color MAY not be opaque. It is a fairly inexpensive approach. Terrazo would be pretty expensive (albeit very durable and nice). They just did some beautiful terrazo in the PDX airport in Portland, OR. Some nice designs and colors. That stuff lasts forever ... my 1932 high school still sports the original terrazo floors.
