Help- we just installed all new plumbing (PVC & CPVC- including a new line to the well) and our water is reddish. It seems to be worse in the cold water supply, but I’m worried that the hot water is only clearer because the sediment is collecting in the bottom of the hot water heater. We’ve got a shallow dug well and no money right now to drill a new deep well which will eventually solve this problem in our clay-rich area.
Until then, any suggestions for filters for the system? I don’t want one just for the drinking water, but for everything (it’s wierd to have orange water in the toilets).
Thanks-

Considering all of your problem ;
I would install a sand filter tank mainly because you have a water limit and the iron . Its not cheap though . Excavation , tank , extra pump from tank to house supply and rerouting plumbing from pump now to tank. It will give you a filtered back up supply of holding water.
A deep well will produce the same water probably. Youve been blessed with mineral water , as an old well driller here told me . Its better for ya , he said . Im not saying it , but he did as he spit baccker . :)

Is there anything cheaper? This renovation has gone over budget (no big surprise) and there's not much left for elaborate systems. -But bathing in yellow water is gross.
Have your water tested and then go to:

or i think they will test it.
