Last question I promise. The new oak floor is laid, sanded with 36, 60, and 100 grit as per instructions, and screened 4 times with 120 grit screen. The floor almost has a polished look to it. Since screening a few faint lines have shown up where the drum sander started its path. I think they are called transitions lines. My question is do I need to sand these out? If I do sand out the transition lines do I need to screen the floor again? Or will the transition lines disappear when I put down the oil base sander/ sealer coat?

how much they show will depend on how shiny the finish is. I would sand them out with care If I could.
If you are going to stain the floor before finishing, the stain will absorb into those lines faster than elsewhere and accentuate them.
With all the work you've put into the floor, the second to the last thing you want to do is more work (at least that's how I'd feel).
But the last thing you want is to not sand those few lines out and see them for the next ??? years.

You are here.
I'm not going to stain the floors. Just an oil base sealer, then 2 coats of a clear semi-gloss water base finish. In sanding the few light spots, I'm thinking of using a palm sander with 100 grit , then 120, and finishing with 150. Will the palm sanded spots take the sealer like the screened floor or will I need to re-screen?
Thanks
