I am in central Maine and looking to find a reputable wet blow cellulose insulation installer. The only one I have found does the standard dry blow method. Does anyone know how to find a contractor in this area?

I did a Yahoo search under "cellulose" and "Maine" and had about 1000 hits...some of them installers or manufacturers. You can also check with your local lumberyards, building department, building materials supplier, or even nearby larger cities. You can also do a search for manufacturers; almost all of them will have a webpage and a dealer locator. We use NuWool (www.nuwool.com)...but I see they only go as far as Pennsylvania for distribution. However, I'm sure there are others in your area that might have links to installers.
Also, you mention the dry-blow method. I'm not sure if you're talking about retrofitting/remodeling (where they drill holes and inject it into sealed, existing wall cavities), or ceiling type loose fill insulation. Another method that might be available in your area is dense-pack, where a mesh-like plastic is glued/stapled to the studs and the cellulose is blown in very densely. This is another good method which will give you excellent insulation results.
Finally, I've seen your posts on a number of other sites and you seem pretty handy; every consider doing it yourself? You might not be able to do wet-blow, but dense pack can be, and has been done by a number of do-it-yourselfers, since the machines are pretty much the same for filling attics.
Please post or email me if you need more help.
*thanks for the reply Jason......I will investigate the possibility of doing the insulation spraying myself....I'll get back to you and let you know how I made outthanks again
