I am working on a custom home where the client wants to have concrete as the finished floor. Now, I notice this in more and more magazines. Is the color added to the concrete mix or etched as a stain? They have given me a pic that does not have a solid color, almost as if mixed halfway with a lot of depth.
Also, I build in the Southeast coastal flood zone, thus will be pouring over elevated wood floor system. Since no contact with earth, will need PT plates? Any other hints besides add’l weight considerations & finish flooring heights.
Need help with thickness, controlling cracks, type of finish.
Thanks in advance,
wahoo!

Good luck. Joe H
I did my concrete slab as a acid stain, it is two color black and tan. Let see if a picture will post
Johnny, that looks pretty cool. Whatcha gonna do to cover the splashes on the block wall--drywall or other?
Try this for color

Thickness is a function of deflection and reinforcing. Shinkage cracks happen. Plan for them by using control joints (more is better). Don't use fiber.
