Lee, do you want to do it in keeping with the hundred y.o. historical accuracy of the house, or do you just want to fix the cracks in an attempt that they don't come back? Then you'll want to tell us what kind of repair is necessary. How cracked?, is the plaster still keyed to the lath if used, water damage, structural problems as a cause. Remember, no one here can see what you see unless you describe it.
