Going to roof house that has 3 different shed roof elevations. How or what do you use to finish top or leading edge of roof. Put D edge over top of shingles or ……??

I've always thought that the best detail on that would be to have a ridge and come down the other side with 1 course of shingles. I think it looks stupid and doesn't keep the water out to have a shed type roof just terminate on the high side.

We typically use D drip edge and a 5" or so wide piece of metal that hems over the drip edge and lays over the exposed nails. Nail small strips of the same metal down first so the nails will be covered and bend the strips back over the metal to hold the big piece down.
