I’ve got a vinyl screen window where the screen has been pulled away from the frame (see attached photo, again my puppy). The screen and the “caulking†(not sure what this is called, the black runner bit in the photo) are both still intact. I tried fixing this by simply placing the screen over the groove in the frame and pushing in the “caulking†to hold it but it didn’t stay; it seems like I need some epoxy. What would be the best way to repair this? What products should I purchase for the repair?

The black bit is called the "spline" and is pressed into the groove by a spline tool, available at any hardware store. Put screen over groove, ( sometimes, depending on how long the screen is, I put something flat on top of the screen material before pushing the spline in; it gives enough slack to keep the side rails from bowing in) and push and roll the spline in. No epoxy or other adhesive needed. Trim excess spline and screen after when done.

Perfect! Thanks
Generally it's difficult if not impossible to put existing screening back in the groove -- you've got to start fresh with new screen.
A full-service hardware store or a glazing shop can install new screen relatively cheaply -- for not much more than if you did it yourself.
Ditto what Dan said..... it is almost impossible to re-do, if a lot of the screen is out of the groove. The one in your photo looks like most of it is still in...worth a try.
I learned when I built a screened porch on my own house, ( didn't want to experiment on a paying job :) ) and made my own screens with the corner braces and aluminum stock; now I keep a roll of screen for when something penetrates one ( usually a baseball around here ). It is very cheap to have 'em fixed at the local hardware store, tho.

The spline tool is like a pizza cutter except that the edge of the disk is not sharp, but has a grove in it.
And the spline comes in several sizes so you need to match what you have.
And you need new screen material also.
Any hardware store should have it all.

A-holes. Hey every group has to have one. And I have been elected to be the one. I should make that my tagline.
