We are fixing a century home here in the northwest (King Edward box style). The floors need to be refinished and there are some wide gaps between the floorboards that have to be filled. The floors are Douglas Fir strips over a wide board subfloor. Both layers run the same way, that is perpendicular to the joists. Does anyone have experience dealing with this type of floor?
