I’am planning to install a parquet floor over a wooden sub floor, the floor requires leveling, what product should I use to level the floor. When I put new sub floor over top, should I leave a space between the sheets of plywood, if so how much, should I glue and screw the sub floor, how far apart should the screws be spaced? Thanks for the help.

Craftsmen: How out is the subfloor, what is it made of, how thick of a plywood are you adding, and what does the plywood manufacturer require for spacing?

Hi, thanks for the reply, the floor is out of level about 1/2" to 3/4" , the floor is 3/4" G1S fir, the plywood subfloor I plan to add is 3/8" I don't know what the manufacture suggests.

OK, how big is the area? Is it pitched overall or low in some places/high in others...?
Can you start with 3/4" in one area and decrease to 3/8" or 1/4" in another with "Levelastic" making up the gaps?

there is a product called Ardex. this is a self leveling cement based underlay. I have used it extensively and have had realy great results with it. It is pricey but by the time you pay for the labor and ply it will even out....
