Hello guys and gals (if there are any on this forum)
Question: In regards to hard/soft wood flooring, what guidelines to sawmills go by to give there customers a homogeneous stock? There are wide variations of subspecies and I’m certain that there are subtle differences in the same sub species that is from a different stand.
Where do the mills draw the line? I’m assuming that you would have to pay a great deal more for a totally homogeneous stock.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming
WOW!!! What a Ride!
Forget the primal scream, just ROAR!!!
If you order "rustic" grade you'll get a mix. If you order "select" grade it will be homogenous, at least to the eye. With some species you can specifiy the grain, such as quarter or rift sawn, as well. Upcharge can be from 50% to 200%.
