Over the years, the soil under my front porch has settled and it has had a few critters take up residence there from time to time. I would like to fill that cavity. The porch is poured slab, 18 wide and 8 deep, poured to a thickness of about 12-14 inches. Its not easy to access from the front as there is a sidewalk out 4 feet from the porch edge.
This is a small job for a mud jacker so they all want a bloody fortune….any creative ideas? I dont need the support as its never cracked or settled because it is tied into keys on the foundation and supports were poured back then..

A friend of mine just had this done in Blue Springs. My guess is that it was about $200 just for doing that. But at the same time there was another slab that was actually jacked at that house and a bigger jacking at her new house about 3 miles away for a total of about $1300.
I have no idea what they would have charged for just the porch fill. But if you want their phone number I will get it.
As this is nothing urgent you might see about getting on a "standby" list to when they are doing a bigger job in your area that they could do at the same time. Don't have any idea of how setup time is involved or how practical it would be for them to go from one job to a small "near by" job without cleaning up the equpment first.
As far as DIY they use a mix of sand with portland and/or fly ash. They call this a self leveling fill mix.
Depending on how deept and far back it is you can make a dam with dirt and a funnel with some boards, sheet metal and/or drain pipe and just pour in the mix.
If the cavity is far under the slab them you might need to inject the mix. Get 2" or so pipe that you can extend back into the cavity. Then with adapters connect it to a short section of 4" pipe. Them make a plunger of some short, maybe a plywood disk that fits the ID of the 4" pipe and then put a handle on it. Makes a big hypodermic.
