I’ve just recently built a post and beam garage/workshop/office. It’s a 1 and a half story 18X24 foot building. I framed for a 9X7 foot garage door and I’m now getting around to deciding what to put there. The inexpensive (I’ve been trying to keep the total cost of the project low) typical residential garage door really doesn’t match the look of the building. What are my options?
I was thinking about a sliding door, but it really doesn’t seem too convenient here in snow country. I’ve also seen custom roll up doors that look like a typical barn door, but I imagine they are quite expensive. Is there a garage door that I could face with vertical pine boards in order to match the siding? Any suggestions for a traditional looking, cost effective, and convenient door.
Thanks

I've seen many overhead doors shipped with a blank metal frame. you add your own face. Check with the local door companies.
I made 8x9 doors out of t1-11 (osb) for my barn! The mice can get out under them very easily!
