Client already just ordered a
PB975SMSS GE Profile 30″ Free-Standing Double Oven Range Stainless Steel
Ge PB975SMSS 30 In. Free–standing Double Oven Range – Yahoo! Shopping
before I got involved, from Lowe’s for her new to be remodeled kitchen.
So I’m wondering if anyone has had any experience with this model and can offer any real life info on it.
As if perhaps it’s a piece of unowhat and we should cancel the order
or it’s ok and what to watch out for with it.
She has plans to order an exhaust vent.
Any thoughts are appreciated.
Thanks much.

Don't know zip about that particular model ( looks like GE's version of the Maytag Gemini) but fwiw, GE is leaving the appliance business, http://www.usatoday.com/money/industries/manufacturing/2008-05-16-ge-appliances_N.htm

No direct experience with this model. Check out epinions.com and consumer reports for the latest.
A good idea since you don't have to heat a bigger cavity just to do the Stouffer's lasagna. It does put the bottom oven pretty low, so I actually nixed this type for my kitchen.
She has it up and running and says she loves it, especially being the only one in the house most of the time.
Thus it's now the question of what type of range hood to go with not having any experience with either filter systems or direct vent.
Seeing she loves cooking as a hobby she's setting up for the last kitchen reno that will take her into old age
so I'm leaning toward direct vent for a recommendation.
It is permitted to run the vent up into the attic and then out a wall as opposed to exiting the roof?
Thanks
I don't see why venting through a wall would be a problem, but I'd check it out with your local codes. Going through the roof is usually a more direct route, so I'd watch the bends and overall length of the ducting if you're going through the wall.
The longer the route and the more bends, the more reason to use a remote blower.
I always recommend outside venting, not re-circulating. Since cooking's a hobby for her I'd look for a quality hood like Vent-a-Hood or Best by Broan. I see that Whirlpool has been getting good marks on Consumer Reports; they should have some options.
Thank you.

Usually, but check local codes. Often there is a 3' or 6' distance requirement from operable windows.Occupational hazard of my occupation not being around (sorry Bubba)
