Geothermal to power mini-duct a/c?
We’re putting radiant infloor heat in our new home, tied in to a geothermal heat pump. Is it possible to have a geothermal heat pump with cooling capacity appropriate to operate a mini-duct system, or do we have to have two separate systems? I realize we can get a pump that heats and cools, but we’re trying to avoid the large ducts that are typical with that system.

We used a ground source heat pump with a Unico small duct system and it worked fine. The GSHP produces either hot/cold water or hot/cold air. Other heat pumps and boilers can do the same. How you distribute that throughout the house is a separate decision, and can be big ducts, small ducts, PEX, etc.
