I cut & fit enough PVC to have just sprung for a cheap delta 10″ miter saw to cut it. anyone have any recommendations for a good blade for cutting it – or are framing blades good enough?
thanks – Roy

Source control, ventilation, and filtration are the keys to healthy indoor air quality. Dehumidification is important too.

I would want one with multi-teeth. A rip blade would be to corse and you'd see a lot of chiped PVC.
You dont have to get an expensive blade for this but one with a lot of teeth.

Its soft enough anything will cut it, though I suspect that a blade originally designed for plastics (they are out there) will cut it longer and cleaner for the same blade price. If you don't see one that says plastic, a melamine blade would be a close second.

Believe it or not, the 10 inch $8 (on special sales) 60 tooth carbide blades from Harbor Freight do a superb job on PVC. Price is right.
I have a 60-tooth Freud Diablo on my miter saw and it works great for cutting PVC. Reasonably cheap at Home Depot or online. You get little tiny PVC shavings instead of dust.
thanks, guys. sounds like it won't be too tough or expensive.

As was mentioned, a carbide blade with more teeth wll cut fine. Just watch how fast you cut.
Another blade you might consider is a triple chip tooth blade. These blades are meant to cut plastic and non-ferrous metal. You will get a cleaner cut, and they won't catch the pipe and throw it as easily. They are more expensive, though.
