I’ve been trying to learn metal forming; been meaning to since HS. By that I mean mostly hammer-and-dolly stuff – compound curves in sheet and the like.

I guess it’s related to fine homebuilding in the sense that a lot of Art Moderne or Streamline Modern styles use formed metal as architectural elements or detail, particularly in light fixtures. Like this – imagine a big “Tiki-Style” lamp –View Image
Obviously, beautiful railings and gates can also be made with a relatively small $ for material, and LOTS of time –

Yeah, I've been there before. Good site. There's several other interesting sites (I'll link you to them), but they all move pretty slowly. After you've been thru the archives not much seems to go on. I've asked questions and not gotten answers for weeks if at all.

Today we's learnin' about rawks. They's all kinds of rawks. These [picks up rock] is rawks which you throw. These here [throws rock at Rusty] is rawks that you get hit with. E.Cuyler
