Are there any preferances between Great Stuff and Hilti spray foam? Or are they pretty much the same?
Thanks

Don't know about the differences between brands, but do know that the type with the reusable gun are worth the startup cost. I doubt that the brand of foam itself makes much difference.
Home Depot locally started selling the Great Stuff system a couple years ago. They only have the lower end gun here at about $25. The foam itself costs about the same as with the regular one time use cans. I've had no issues with the cheap gun. The foam will last a lot longer and you will waste almost none. You will recover the $25 in waste savings after using just a few cans.
Great stuff orange gun foam is also a fire block. I like their 14 series gun too.

i have the guns... but have been buy'n the greatstuff in the 20oz cans at HD for $5.60... comes in black can high expanding... and red can... not as high expanding...
think i like the black cans better... but it's just about a toss up.... one can seals up a 3' 8' door with transom into an all brick wall... so for $6 i feel like it's a deal
i'm kinda po'd at hilti... i just tossed 30 something cans of hilti foam... yes it was out of date and yes it was my fault... but the great stuff with close to the same date was still good... (1yr out of date) which is pretty close to new off the shelf for me...
i posted this the other day... if you read some of the cans... it says it will expand more and cure faster if you wet the surface you are spray'n it on... you can also mist the foam after it's sprayed..... i tried it... it works... go figure... instructions...

Hilti does have a cold weather formula that works well at near freezing tempratures.
If you mist the area your foaming with water the foam does expand and cure better.
