This question has probably been asked before but I couldn’t find the thread.
When nailing studs to a pressure treated mudsill what nails should be used? Are regular 16d short gun nails okay or should they be hot dipped? Do they even make hot dipped gun nails?
Thanks

Stainless would be your best bet, but more expensive. But you should be able to find hot dipped galvanized for most guns. Check out mazenails.com or search at amazon.

I know Paslode makes ACQ rated gun nails. I would assume most major gun manufacturers make ACQ rated fasteners by now.
You can get double galvies ratad for acq from Bostitch. I've picked them up in the big box stores. You should use nails rated for use in ACQ.
Let's not confuse the issue with facts!
You can get SS clipped head gun nails at...

For framing to mudsills, I usually get Paslode ACQ rated framers regularly from HD. My local yard can get the Paslodes but typically they only stock generic galvy stick nails, also ACQ rated but not as good quality IMO. If the work will be exposed to the weather I'll order a box of stainless (and will include the additional cost in my estimate since they aren't cheap).
hmm these are pretty darn cool and they claim to be good for acq, but, like the others said, stainless is the only one that we know will work for sure.

You would want the PT2000 stuff... I shot a bunch of them out of my max stick framer and was awfully happy! pow pow pow....
