Once again the wife has asked me to buy a few “guy gifts”. Anyone have any suggestions for something in the $15-30 range? You know, a tool or gadget that most guys would like. I’ve kind of overdone screwdrivers, so something a little different from that.

The recipe for linoleum hasn't changed much in nearly 170 years, yet it's still one of the greenest floors money can buy.

Remind me to go out to the van and get my plumb bob. You've got to see a picture of that thing. A true work of art.
Ok...
Hey Cal,
Please shoot a pic of that plumb bob in your van. I hear it's a work of art!!
* Scott braces himself for Calvin's plumb bob that has years of "character".

It's a bit late and too damn wet out there now. I'll attempt to remember once I sleep it off.
You'll love it.

Hahaha....sleep well...I look forward to it.
Scott.
Here's your years of character..................
There's always flashlights.
And summer sausages, knives, tire gauges, insulated coffee cups, laser pointers, gloves, belt buckles, pens and pencils, gaudy boxer shorts and ties, car washing stuff, fancy spurs, OK, I'm starting to run out of ideas.
XXXL Condoms.
Hey, what guy isn't going to say "My, I've always needed these but couldn't find them anywhere!"
I guess I should have known better than to ask you guys -- you're giving me the same sort of goofy answers that I'd give you.
Alright Mr. evidently "not know it all"..............
Go to harbor freight and buy them Multimasters, or compressors or nailguns, or lasers, or front end loaders. That should reach the price point.
No HF here -- Just Northern Tool. And they're not really handymen to that degree. (Though I'm guessing they'd all like a front-end loader.)
Buy them all chese balls.
Buy them all cheese balls.
Ha ha ha, ho ho ho.........
I typed out a reply to dan, but I guess I forgot to hit post...............
the last line was-
At least it isn't a cheese ball.
Two feeble minds run in the same ditch.
I'd rather get a cheese ball than a fruitcake.
Me? I'm partial to..............
.............a sweet kiss from the lady of the house.
and this, which has kept me out of trouble.
no tongues,
no penetration.
I wasn't talking about THAT kind of fruitcake.
holy smokes
I hope I wrote "from the lovely lady...........
Uh, I was thinking you might be thinking I was talking about THAT kind of fruitcakes. Maybe my mind is a little filthy.
nosir, nope, not me............never
I coulda been hooked on dope.
Decided on wimmen.
Now, moderation is the key. Too much of anything isn't good for you.
That's what my doctor keeps telling me.
Speaking of too much, ice and snow, a little dab'l do ya. It's been like the middle of winter here. Warmed up a couple days, now it's freezing freezing rain and snowing.

"Wanna trade weather?"
I don't think so.
back to the original question...
I would suggest work gloves, those thin poly -something or others that are sold in Lowes, etc. I never would have bought them myself...thinking they were wimpy and a bit faddish. But, received a pair from my brother a few yrs ago... and I plum wore them out doing stuff around the house. They're great for any work...hauling lumber, cutting plywood, handling insulation, etc. Nice thing is they still allow you to grip things, unlike thick leather gloves which are great for heavier-duty tasks.
I hear they are washable, but I haven't bothered.
Enjoy.
I bought a pack of them, thin white gloves with an orange coating on the palm side. Haven't used them yet. Guess I need to find them and give them a try. I'm not really a glove guy, and my hands are really showing it. Scarred, cracked, chapped, stained, calloused etc. I think that's an excellent idea.
I had some goatskin roping gloves once that were the cats meow, but were worthless in the cold. They said plainsman on them, I'd like to find some new ones. Yeah, several guys asked where my horse was, but whatever. I can't work in thick gloves because I have very little feeling in my hands.
