I am refurbishing some old double-hung windows, making them act as true double-hungs, and this includes refinishing them back down to the original wood. Now, the old hardware which I think is just steel looks incompatible w/ the bright lite finish. Does anyone have a website or a supplier for these hardware items? I’m talking pulleys and pulls, thumblatches and the like. Is there a method of refinishing the existing ones, some pulleys are bent but not too bad?

Try http://www.traditional-building.com .......it is a good source for suppliers of old traditional materials and supplies and you may find what you are looking for.
