Clients want to lay White Birch 3 1/4″ x3/4″ solid hardwood flooring. They were advised by a family freind that White Brich is softer than Eastern White Pine and that they wouldn’t be happy with how it wears.
Any feedback?

I have 500 ft2 of White birch in my dining & living room and it seems pretty darn hard to me.

In addition to what David has already said...............if they apply a film type finish on the floor(as opposed to a penetrating finish), that's the surface that receives the abrasive wear. Unless they're in the habit of carrying large pieces of gravel inside on the soles of their shoes, dropping heavy objects or allow their kids to beat the floor with a hammer.......
