Hi there folks! Does anyone have some good suggestions on installing hardwood (or a hardwood / composite type product) over a concrete radiant heat floor? It would seem to me that using floating plywood, or sleepers of any kind, would diminish the radiant heat effect, while standard hardwood flooring may dry out too much. Your experiences and successes are welcome!
*Ross, Your sleepers should be fastened to the sub floor before you pour the concrete. That is what I had planed for my house, but I read a post a while back about floating two layers of ply ,glued and screwed together this sounded to me to be the way I will do my house now.
*In answer to my own question, "engineered wood" by several different pre-finished hardwood floor companies, Bruce being one of them, seem to be the way to go, no sleepers and no floating plywood. Does anyone have experience with this? Thanks.
