I have a customer who wants me to install HardiPanel Stucco sheets. I was just curious if anyone here has experience with it. I know many people have posted with HardiPlank information and the general concencious is that the planks are great.
I would really love to see a finished wall in the northern Virginia area. Pictures anyone?
Thanks,
Frank DuVal

Frank,
Believe it or not, and against manufactures likley recommendations, I used them on a porch ceiling! I really liked the "random" stucco pattern so I went for it.
I used a ton of liquid nails and galvanized 6d and fastened them as a ceiling for my wrap around porch. 9 panels total. Trimmed them with the Hardie 1 x 4s.
Looks quite nice at the ten foot level that the porch is and hopefully will be maintenance free for quite some time. Been hanging there nearly a year with no problems.
I did kill a brand new DeWalt hole saw drilling out for the four light receptacles. Needs to be a better way to bore holes in the stuff.

*Mike:Thanks for the reply. That sounds like a very innovative use for HardiPanels. I imagine it would be very hard on cutting tools to make round holes of a large size. It must be hard to use the vacuum assisted diamond core drill on a ceiling!Frank DuVal
