Heads Up on a cool dust extractor for your shop vac

andybuildz | Posted in Tools for Home Building on June 16, 2010 10:36am

Here’s a heads up for any of you in the need…

Was looking for a used Porter Cable Vac to no avail for the porter cable drywall sander I bought off E-bay so I don’t have to use myCraftsman Vac and ruin it so I looked into the Dust Deputy (DIY)
I thought the Dust Deputy was pretty cool but after looking it over it sure seemed pretty expensive for what it is but it does get good reviews.

Then after some extensive Googling I tripped over this!!
How friggin’ cool!!!! http://www.cgallery.com/jpthien/cy.htm
I’ll be ordering some dust ports from Rockler tomorrow if HD doesn’t have any and put together a smaller version on some casters.Yippie View Image

    Drywall

Wife sez I'm done with DW, gotta hire it out next time.

Hate to admit it, but she's right.

I use one of these for sanding drywall, no dust gets to the shop vac.

I have one of theirs.  It really works amazingly well.  It looks like the clones are the only thing available any more.
