It was a story in "Walls & Ceilings" magazine 3 issues ago. This months had no mention that I noticed. I think from what I recall of the article the company is new & looking still for a manufacturer? The mag is on the web somewhere. Just drove from Southern Cal to South Dakota & back, not one load of wallboard to be seen. The orange barrels are thinning out too. Lots of cable spools still around though. Joe
*I called the Lite rock office in Arizona and left message to have them call me. Have yet to get a reply. GeneL
*Are you still around? We thought you'd crawled back under a rock. That other guy, Gabe, hasn't been around much lately. Makes me suspect that you two are one in the same. Like Barry Manilow and Joey Ramone. Notice that no one has ever seen them together. Have they ever played a concert toghether? No. Why? Because they are the same person, obviously. Light weight drywall is a figment of your imagination, like concrete boats. You pretend to be asking for information, but next thing you will be telling us that if we want to know anything about it we will have to see chapter such-and-such in the notorious Ledger Book, and these unsuspecting people will be made to feel inferior unless they buy it.
*Good morning, all. I just got off the phone talking with Sarah Mazur the editor of Walls & Ceilings Magazine. She says Lite-Rock is still in the discussion stage with potential manufacturers. As soon as she hears more on the subject she'll publish it.Walls & Ceilings'web site is http://www.wconline.com. To read the article on Lite-Rock click on The Magazine. This brings up the latest issue. The article appeared in the August 1999 issue. Juist scroll down to the August issue and click. You won't find anything on Lite-Rock in my book, but you will learn something about L-P's FiberBond. For another figment of my imagination how about Cellulose Fiber Reinforced Stucco? The processed cellulose fiber is called Fabroset, and is manufactured by DPD,Inc., of Lansing,Michigan. GeneL.
*Hey, let's be careful with the derogatory comments about concrete boats - you're getting a bit personal there. After all my alma mater won the Concrete Canoe Race one of the (many) years that I was there. Unfortunately, they don't have a web site about it, but there is a description of concrete canoes at: http://www.seas.ucla.edu/asce/canoe.htmland a couple of small pictures of finished canoes at:http://lamar.colostate.edu/~csuasce/canoe/canoeintro.htmlhttp://www.stanford.edu/group/canoe/images/final.jpgBTW, are you the same Babe they made that picture about a couple of years ago?
*Gene, I'll take figments of your imagination any day over some of these so called "expert's" facts. Thanks for all the good info that you post. I know it greatly increases my library, and my knowledge.BTW - is your last name pronounced Lay-jay (I can't get the dadburn keyboard to pronounce the jay part correctly) I know a lot of people named Leger around these parts. Cajun as the day is long. Good people, too.James DuHamel
*James. I'm often asked how I pronounce my name. If you speak English it is pronounced ledge er. If you speak German it is lay ger...with a hard G. If you speak French there are two ways: lay gee --soft g or lay zere--I don't quite know how to put the last part in writing.I don't understand why Babe bought up the concrete boat thing. We had a good go around about this some months past. Many posted replies about the concrete boat races and I mentioned the concrete ships? that were seen in the South Pacific during WWII. Anyway, i'll keep you posted on Lite-rock developments as I get the information. Thank you for your kind remarks. GeneL
