I have a home in the Gunderson Historic Distric, Oak Park, Ill. So many, many homes here have Hex shingles, either the 16″ ones that use a copper staple at the bottom or the 2 or 3 tab hex that was so very distinctive.
I was able to get the 16″ from Owens Coring some years ago for my garage and I would like to get the same for the house next year when the roof is to be replaced. Problem is OC doesn’t have them on their website, and Globe is out of business.
So, are there any sources out there for these distinctive shingles? I’ve seen the newer ones from Certenteed and they just don’t look as good with their second layer to make a fake shadow line.
Sources?

Are you sure OC no longer makes it? Maybe it's just not on their website. I'll check with my suppliers tomorrow (if I remember!) and post back here to let you know what I found out.
