hitachi compressor and 3 milwaukeenailer
Hi all. I splurged the other day and bought a nice new pneumatic set up.
Or so I thought. I was recommended the Hitachi EC-12 compressor, and I helped select three Miluakee Nail guns. The clipped head framer, a 15 ga. finish nailer 7110-21 and the 7150-21 2″ brad nailer.
The hitachi compressor is new, and doesn’t hold it’s pressure over 5 hours,, really not a problem,, or is it? They modified the angle of regulator so it wasn’t proud of the tanks,, so I wouldn’t bump it on suff. Probably just a crappy connection,, but I’ve just read past post about what a dog this compressor is. If I can get my money back,, I’ll run to the Depot, and grab that aluminum jobbie.
The framing nailer doesn’t sink 3 1/4 ring shank pasolode nails,, which are hard to get anyway (special order),,but is important to me, since I’m doing a pile of steel roofing jobs where I want to nail down full 1″ strapping.
The 15 ga, used today failed to fire around 40% of the time. Pulled trigger, and just a “pfffff”
The brad nailer worked fine for nailing down plywood and shims while leveling a new kitchen with uneven oak floors.
is 1 out of four a happy ratio.
The real crapper is that I bought them all from our best local tool shop,, who has a reputation for not really fixing stuff,, but has a great selection. I went for the local mom and pop tool shop,, and I’m really not happy.
Any thoughts? I’m bringing it all back tomorrow to sort it all out! Oh yeah,, I wanted galvanized 15 ga nails,, and was sent home being told bright was the same. I should have protested then!
