I went to a home this evening to look at a porch railing job. The client was told by thier insurance company that they would not renew the policy unless they installed a railing around the 42″ high concrete porch. a pretty straight foward bid I thought.
The insurance company also told them that the aluminum siding was also bad, and could not be insured. It seems they did a drive by inspection and sent a letter to the home owners. My up close and personel inspection revealed nothing wrong with the siding other than 30 years of grung and chalking. I’ll pass the painting bid on to my painting contractor buddy.
Has anyone ever hear of an insurance company not insuring for siding deterioration? The couple has been insyerd by the same company since they bought the house six years ago.
Whats up with this?
