I just read an article in This Old House which says that “soapants” in cedar siding destroys the house wrap. Has any one heard of this?
As luck will have it. We’re about (in a week or so) to install cedar shingles and trim on our house. The house is currently wrapped in typar. We’re thinking of using a second layer of 15# felt over the typar just in case this article has some merit. I’m a little concerned we may be trapping in moisture in the walls with this second layer.
Any thoughts
Thanks

It's all there, except the part about the soap ants. We have been having a problem with those little brown ants in the kitchen though. They just love the Terro, they've gone through almost a whole bottle this summer. Do you suppose they could crawl through the holes in the house wrap?
