What do you call reliable information?
I have not heard of most of those. I am using greegaurd right now. It is supposed to allow draainage channels for moisture to trickle out of the wall assembly due to the texture. Water seems not to pass through it. I am using pre-painted claps over it. I have no idea other than theory on results.
I would not use unprimed siding over any wrap.
I used to use 3/8" rips for drainage plane. Then I tried the Rainsliker over tyvek on my last one, but the crew felt like it was taking far too long, labor wise, to install it, and there were occasional spots in the siding where it was tucked too tight.
So we went to the greengaurd this jjob, and I think I llike it.

I like typar. Cheaper than tyvek and last 4 years outside, so that is 3 years 11 months longer in Buffalo.
We looked at several lately and most of those that are made of poly seem to not react to the tannins in cedar, so are more likely to last. The weather trek looked good, but any with drain planes look like a good bet.
Also, I know that everyone is saying tyvek fails under cedar, we just did a remodel of a project we did in '89 (it was featured in FHB #75, Room to Mingle) and we found the tyvek under untreated cedar was in good shape.
Just reporting what we know. On the house we are currently working on in cedar, we chose 30# felt since we couldn't get any real solid data to convince us what worked well out there.
