I’m finding my competition can buy windows and doors direct without going thru a lumber yard. Anybody know how to get a dealership?

I would try to contact the manufacturer of the windows you like to use. I bet you have to purchase a certain amount of inventory per month to qualify, and delivery is probably by motor carrier (truck line) which means you will probably need to have a dock and forklift to unload them unless you can pic them up at the terminal. But I might be completely wrong.
randy.. so what.. it just means they have more money tied up in product... how are you going to compete IF you had a dealership.?
compete on sales and service or sell a better quality window so you don't have to compete on low price..
here's a tip.. if you have to ask how to get a dealership , you probably don't want one.. we've had many dealerships over the years for many different products... most were one-of-a kind.. i certainly wouldn't want one for a product that is basically a commodity..

There are always window manufactures that try going direct to the buyer. They usually do it until they get enough market share and then they switch to dealers. There are more advantages than not to buying from a dealer. A local store, usually with a showroom, sales people who know the area, who you can develope a long term relationship with. They will have a varity of products to offer you.
Then lets tallk liability; the more layers there are between you and the customer the better off you'll be when something goes wrong. And generally they'll have deeper pockets than you.
