   I liked the "How's her cooking" part. 

   Aren't those the best type of clients?

   In addition to Piffin's questions (and sorry if I duplicate some of them):

   • Painting trim?  Doors?  Ceiling?  Window mullions?  If ceiling yes, textured? 
   • What kind(s) of paint (brand, gloss, alkyd or latex)?
   • What colour(s) of paint going over what colour(s)?
   • Who's supplying the paint?
   • Are they going to move everything out of the room for you?
   • Do you have to disassemble/reassemble anything, including even something minor like a door knob? (It once took me 3 hours to reassemble/realign 5 old cheap doorknobs - should have bought the customer new ones) 
   • What kind of shape are the walls in (dings, dents, etc.) and the current paint (how tough to get it to chip or flake?)
   • By vaulted ceiling, do you mean like an inverted "V"?

   How long do you think it will take you to do one coat???

   Works on Nantucket Island does ultra high end for $25-30 a foot interior painting.that said the real world is 5 to 10 a foot interior and when someone asks you to paint they usually mean everything not just the walls and ceilings so bid for it all or get someone who will.Piffin has all the right ?'s and if you don't ask them be prepared to lose money.Painting is what they see every day and they will dwell on a bad job no matter how good the construction was.
