I am just starting to plan a sunroom/family room. I want install a concrete floor with a radiant heat system. I would like to finish the concrete floor with a custom finish. Maybe earthy, browninsh tones. I’m not sure if I want it smooth or stamped but I think I would prefer it smooth. I would like ideas and techniques on how to accomplish this.

Look into staining concrete. I see it done often in new commercial bays for resteraunts. Also in applications like yours. It looks really cool if you have a slab with lots of cracks, but flat. It can even look similar to marble if done by a good craftsman.
If you haven't drawn blood today, you haven't done anything.
Do a Google search on Stained Concrete or Stamped Concrete for lots of ideas.
You get out of life what you put into it......minus taxes.

Here is a link to a website of a couple in MD (I think). They used radiant in-floor, and acid stain. They have a forum on their site where they answer questions... and have answered many about the acid staining.
