Hello all,
I recently purchased my first home, I removed all the drywall and now I am having to replace the ceiling joist 2×6 and am also sistering some 2×8 rafters that attach to the ridge board. They had termite damage, I would hate to leave them.
My question is how do I attach the rafters to the ridge board without using nails, I am using wood screws, but would prefer use L angle brackets with screws.
Can anyone explain the correct way? I am a do it myself.

There are quite a few bracket options on the market. Use one of these, which are designed for the purpose. Use specified fasteners with framing brackets.
a better option than generic angle brackets.
