Hello,
This is my first login. I am not a homebuilder, but I would like to become one. What is the best possible path to doing so? Is it working for another homebuilder as their assistant? My preference is to work for a small sized company that specializes in customs. Any suggestions?

The best is to work for someone else (a reputable company) and be willing to learn. It'll take many years to learn what a good builder knows. If you think after a year that you're ready to go on your own, you aren't. I've been doing this all my life and if I don't learn something new every day, I either wasn't paying attention or I was on vacation.
.....and never be afraid to ask questions. If you ask and show a willingness to learn, most guys will take the time to help you.
Good luck,
John

You ask how to map your journey but don't say what the starting point is, only the end.
How old are you and what skills/experience/schooling do you have now?
